Magnets implanted in fingernails

So if you follow the twitter feeds of @hypatiadotca (Leigh Honeywell) and @3ricj (3ric Johanson) you’ll probably know that they’ve gone and had magnets implanted in their fingernails. Supposedly an explicatory blog post is forthcoming, but what do you think, readers? Controllers for some cool projected UI like the “Sixth Sense”? Simply as a tactile sensor for magnetic fields?
