Zach Smith’s “Super Simple SMT: Stencil8” Project

Zach “Hoeken” Smith just emailed us about his Stencil8 project, a straightforward-looking technique for stenciling/squeegeeing on solder for surface mount (SMT) components. On his site (and Github) Zach has posted a really nice tutorial and the open source files for the tooling fixture he built (to hold the stencils), the stencils, the PCB set-up, etc. I’m fascinated by the stencil/squeegee process for applying solder in SMT. This certainly makes it look approachable to makers interested in small-run PCB production.
