Most people would put treehouses in the realm of “childhood dream projects,” but Geoff De Ruiter might change a few adult minds. Geoff’s beautiful scratch-built treehouse is more like a tiny tree-home, complete with living room, kitchen, bathroom, and two sleeping areas. Geoff also built most of the furniture inside the treehouse, and used some clever tricks to make the living spaces appear bigger than they are. By using reclaimed, recycled, and donated materials, he managed to spend just $8,200 building it. Not a bad price for your own tiny home!
The treehouse, dubbed Raven Loft, is built on his property in Pender Island, BC, but Geoff says that he only uses it occasionally as a private get-away. He also offers it up for friends and family to stay in. If you’re interested in building your own, I recommend watching his extended walkthrough below, where he talks about some of the materials used and difficulties encountered.
