As mentioned in the White House Maker Faire Fact Sheet this morning, Indiegogo is celebrating the White House Maker Faire by launching a competition. The Maker Challenge gives people who have campaigns on Indiegogo a chance to win prizes from Amazon and Autodesk. Several participants from Indiegogo are in attendance at the White House Maker Faire, and Indiegogo wants to offer a way to elevate even more projects.
To participate you’ve got to have an Indiegogo campaign that is maker related, and you have to connect it with the Maker Challenge page by July 16, 2014. Amazon and Autodesk will review the participants and choose some lucky winners.
Amazon’s prizes include:
- Entrepreneurial mentorship from Amazon.
- A 3-month professional account subscription Selling on Amazon.
- A $200 credit toward Fulfillment by Amazon.
Autodesk’s prizes include:
- Autodesk® Fusion 360™, an easy-to-use 3D CAD/CAM tool, for all qualifying campaigns.
- 123D Mentorship for five (5) selected campaigns.
President Obama is hosting the first-ever White House Maker Faire on June 18 to recognize the contributions of makers who bring creativity and technical ability to a broad range of projects. If you are a maker or a friend of makers, please become an advocate for expanding opportunities for making and makers in your community. To show your support for growing the maker community, we encourage you to sign the “Building Maker Communities” pledge and put yourself on the map!
