I have a science based pre-school. We are doing a bird watch on our play yard. The woodpecker is one of our visitors. Been cooking for the birds and recording what foods they like best. I am always looking for projects the children can do related to what we are observing. Your woodpecker on a rubberband explaines it well and an excellent visual. Young children love science if made simple for understanding. Thanks….
