A Chandelier from Vintage Glove Molds

This light fixture from Los Angeles design studio Voila! reached out and grabbed me, so to speak. Called a Handelier, it’s modern and funny and functional all at once. Even better, it’s made from vintage aluminum glove molds. Visit this feature on Design Milk to see matching handy standing lamps and wall sconces.

Superhero Garden Gnome Mod

Transform a garden-variety garden gnome into your favorite superhero! Awesome. Instructables user The Papier Boy has a step-by-step tutorial up. He uses Sculpey and Bondo to subtly alter the shape of the gnomes, adding superhero masks and details, like bat ears on Gnome Batman. [Thanks, Naomi!]

Knotted Headband

Once I dove into sailor knots in my latest Nautical Lamp video, I can’t stop! I really love the designs created by this functional form of tying rope, and I particularly enjoy when people customize it for themselves. This knotted headband by You Seriously Made That is a fun spin using yarn.
