Join us later today for our sixth installment of Weekend Projects Hangouts On Air. We’ll be chatting with the author of Make: Electronics, Charles Platt, who in MAKE Volume 15 theorized a hypothetical tremolo wheel. Years later MAKE Technical Editor Sean Ragan would build this project, giving us the Optical Tremolo Box (and subsequently one of our most popular videos of all time, approaching 2 million views at the moment – watch below!).
We’ll also be joined by maker Chuck and his upcycled dummy disc mod of the Optical Tremolo Box.
Bounce back here at the scheduled hangout time to watch LIVE or join the event on Google+ to watch and ask Charles and Sean any questions.
Follow along as we build this Optical Tremolo Box, which reads a patterned disk with a light sensor to create a warbling audio effect (tremolo) that you can custom design with any pattern you like.

Every Friday from Oct. 11 – Dec. 20 (except Nov. 29) we’ll be hanging out with makers of Weekend Projects, our beginner-friendly series of electronics builds powered by RadioShack. Join our host and 2012′s Maker Camp Director Nick Raymond, a guest MAKE Editor, and specially invited makers for these fun and informal hangouts.
