Your mileage may vary on these. Here is what I would recommend you do before spenind a lot of time on these:
1. If you are going to use these outside, leave a unfinished jar out in the rain to see how waterproof they are. I found that rain easily leaks into these. The moisture will ruin the spray frosting on the inside, so these are best on an inside window sill.
2. If you have hot summers, the silicone sealant will probably not hold the solar light to the inside of the lid. The heat will soften it and it will fall. Again, inside will probably work best for those of us in the south (Texas here).
Otherwise – cool idea!
