Robot Resurrection, an awe inspiring, towering robot sculpture, lives up to its name pretty well.

Constructed mainly from parts of small airplanes, this bot stands over 30 feet tall. Airplane parts such as the main body and even a nose piece have been resurrected as a flame throwing, laser blasting, LED lit crowd pleaser.

Built by Shane Evans after an epiphany he had during Burning Man, Robot Resurrection took roughly 7 months to get onto its feet. Since then, Evans has been modifying, upgrading, and evolving the design. In the video above from 2014, he talks about wanting to add wheels to allow the pilot, who is stationed inside the robot’s chest, to drive the robot around.

While seeing this huge thing in motion would certainly be fun, it may be difficult with the massive crowd that appears any time this robot comes to life! The arms are fully articulated and the head can swivel around to look down on the masses.

I’d say to keep your eye out for this magnificent construction at Maker Faire Bay Area, but the fact is that if you’re attending, you probably won’t be able to overlook it! Of course if you won’t make it to the Faire, you can follow Robot Resurrection on Facebook to see where you might get a chance to see it in the future.
