One Project You Are Particularly Proud Of
1. Every day when I walk through our office, I smile when I see the mountain painting I made. It is as soothing and relaxing as looking at the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the colors turned out so rich and luscious. I really love that piece.
Two Mistakes You’ve Made In the Past
1. I often get caught up ina project and forget to rinse out my paint brushes. It is such a kindergarten, basic step, and yet, I forget, (or to be honest, procrastinate like a mug), thus ruining a bevy of brushes in my day. For someone who tries to conserve and re-purpose, it is a silly and completely-preventable over-sight.
2. Secondly, when painting the mountain mural I mention above, I neglected to paint the sides of the canvas. I still haven’t fixed it, but now need to either paint them white or blue, as it’s sort of half and half right now. When I glance at the sides sometimes I chuckle to myself and sometimes IT DRIVES ME FRACKING CRAZY.

Three Things That Make Your Work Unique
1. My sense of humor. Quirky and strange at times, yes, but hey, sometimes you get a white girl rapping about herbs or dogs providing the supply list or a Flashdance dance sequence. I try to bring humor into the mix whenever possible to my blog posts and videos. Life is hard, we should all be laughing as often as possible to get us through it.
2. My theater and film background. I am an actress and have studied theater and film my whole life, so I feel really comfortable on camera. I love talking to people, especially our amazing craft community, and that love for communicating paired with my training strengthens my Craft videos.
3. Design dork! I am WAY into design and am obsessed with Swedish design, Finnish textiles, mid-century modern, uber-modern-meets-rustic decor, to name a few genres. I am always reading about design and filling my eyes and mind with gorgeous images from countless design stores and blogs, and use this love to inspire my aesthetic with my craft projects. I’m no Ray Eames, but she influences me and my style.
Four Tools You Love To Use
1. My bubblegum pink Kenmore sewing machine.I think I am more motivated to use it because it is so adorable.
2. The Gingher fabric scissors I got from the Martha Stewart craft episode where she gave out her favorite tools. She told me NEVER to let anyone else use them for anything other than fabric. If I know anything, it’s to listen to Martha-freaking-Stewart so they are only used for fabric, and they cut like butter!
3. Bazzill Basics Paper. Recently I had a few paper crafts to do for a party I was throwing, and I picked up a bunch of different card stock crafting paper at Michael’s. I love the way the Bazzill Basics Paper cuts, the colors are just stunning, and the texture is really lovely. A great medium to work with. Is paper a tool?
4. My Nana’s sewing supplies. My grandmother was a huge part of my life. She helped raised me and was one of my dearest, closest friends. She is the Bobbie tattoo across my arm that often gets asked about. I knew she sewed when I was younger, but I had no idea how much or well. When she passed away I found all kinds of sewing supplies that I have used ever since. From vintage fabric, to a pattern cutter, to pinking sheers, I feel a little closer to Bobbie every time I use something of hers.
