If you hang out in the user created virtual world Second Life one of the popular things to do is use animations for dancing, interaction, avatar personality and using for filming (also called Machinima) – animations are usually created with Poser, but now there’s a new free way to create the animation files (.BVH) . Avimator is a simple tool for creating and editing avatar animations, does inverse kinematics, mirroring, works on Mac, PC and Linux! Link.

Hi,
Actually, I created a software recently based on a similar idea. It’s open source in VB and available on SourceForge.
It doesn’t have exactly the same features though
Feel free to try it and comment
