I really like Michelle Lopez’s 3D objects made from animal hides, like this leather car – [via] Link.

That poor Honda. It did nothing to him!
schendriansays:
how many cows do you need for one honda?
why does it need to be real leather? what a waste of biomass. sorry for being dramatic and green at the same time.

I’ve come up with a pretty good definition of art. Short version, if a 10 year old could reproduce it, it isn’t art.
I’m pretty sure a 10 year old could drape a car in leather.
ptsays:
@matt – there’s more to this than draping leather over a car. have you ever worked with leather and tried to get it to form fit something?
mattsays:
10 year old children are very creative, I bet they could find a way to get that leather to form fit.
but then again, where is a 10 year old going to get a car?
Ryansays:
Even though personally I don’t like this as an art piece, I do believe art is in the eye of the beholder.
Like the guy who stapled a pizza box to a canvas (or was it some sort of wall) and sold it for millions of dolalrs. That was dumb, but someone thought it was art.
Ixtysays:
I Love cars and I love sitting in leather, but draping a car in leather means about as much to me as draping a bus in leather.
