Sew up this cute Snuggler swaddle pattern from Lotta Jansdotter. This pattern is featured in her book Simple Sewing for Baby: 24 Easy Projects for Newborns to Toddlers.
Swaddling is known to make babies feel safe like they are in the womb and helps them sleep better at night. You can sew this cute snuggler pattern up this weekend!
Update 4/7/10: We’ve updated the PDF with a tiled pattern that works for printing with standard-sized printer paper.

This looks like a great pattern. It would be nice to have assembly instructions(although that could be in the book). Thanks
I second the request for instructions! Thanks for the pattern!
I’ll check on this for you both and everyone else.
Thanks for your patience. This pattern is now updated with instructions! Download away!
Hmmm…I’m still not getting any instructions with the download…
I just downloaded the PDF again to test and the instructions are there. If you are in Preview on a mac, it doesn’t show up in the nav for the sidebar. Just scroll down with the arrow keys and you’ll see from page 2 on the instructions are there with the patterns at the end.
Wow, I was so excited to find this pattern but I just can’t download it. I got my MIL to try and she can’t download it either from her computer. I can get the first page of the pdf up ok and then it just freezes and does no more. Any chance you could email me the pdf?
Thanks so much
Agnes
wow just the extra pictures makes a world of difference. Thanks so much for he instructions!!
The link isn’t working! Is there another way to get the pattern?!?
Is it timing out?
Here’s the direct link to download. Let me know if that works or not:
http://cdn.makezine.com/make/craft/CRAFT_Magazine_pattern98.pdf
I can’t get the pattern to download either, it keeps saying the file is damaged and can’t be repaired.
Can you reload?
Thanks
I am trying to print the pattern on my home printer – which only prints on 8.5×11 paper. Any hints on how to print out the tiled pattern? When I printed it out, taped it together and measured, there is no way the finished proeduct will sew up to be 20 inches long x 11 inches wide.
If I printed out the single page version, how much do I have to increase it by on a copier to get the correct sizing?
Thanks!!
Thanks for being patient with this. I’m finding out the information from Chronicle books.
All I get is the first page, I can’t the rest of the tutorial, or the pattern.
Hi I am unable to download this pattern. All I get is the first page of the PDF file and then it stops, because of a file error, could you possibly send it to my email? My sister is having a scheduled c-section next week, and he is preemie. I would LOVE to make her one of these, cuz it looks perfect!
I am unable to download this pattern, I keep getting an error. any hints on how to download it? I would love to make it for my first grandchild.
This is a large 10MB pattern file that is probably too large to view automatically in your browser. Your browser is probably timing out. Just right click and download the PDF to your desktop. (or if you are on a Mac, hold down the control key, and choose “download linked file”) I just downloaded it and it’s fine on my computer and i’m away now in NY.
Thank you for helping me with downloading the snuggle pattern. My daughter will love it.
Hi,
I just tried to download the pdf file for the baby swaddle blanket and was unable to get the file to work. It would only download the cover page and nothing else. Could you please email me the file for this pattern to nikkiilee20@hotmail.com. I would love to make a few of these for my future little one.
Thanks,
Nicole
I wish the tiling was working for this pattern. I can download it no problem, but when I try to print I only get partial pieces. I’ve tried it on several computers/printers with the same result.
Sorry for the delay folks. I’m working on getting our production designer to tile this so that it will fit on a home computer. Please stay tuned. I hope to have this up by today or early next week.
I tried everything that you suggested to try and yet still nothing. It downloads the first page and then just stops and freezes up on me. Could you try emailing the file to me and see if that works? Nikkiilee20@Hotmail.com
Thanks,
Nicole
Thank you for that, Natalie- I was unable to download more than the first page until I followed your suggestion.
Much appreciated!
If you are lucky enough to get the pattern to load in Internet Explorer the printing options were available for me to tile large pages. So print it out directly from the web browser. Probably a good idea to make sure you have the latest version of internet explorer and the adobe reader plugin
You can not Tile Large pages with the free “reader” only version you need the Full version of acrobat.
I know this is an old thread, but I am hoping for response! I tried to get the pdf in all the recomended ways but it says that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired. Any way to get this pattern? Much appreciated…
Hi,
I am wondering if the pdf problem was ever resolved. I tried as recently as today to download it and I get page one only with no pattern or instructions.
I would very much love to be able to download and sew this pattern.
Thanks!
Would love to get the pattern for the snuggler. Can’t seem to download it. HELP!!! Not sure if it is even still available.
This should be on Pinterest!
<3 and thank you!
Hi there :)
This snuggler looks great but unfortunately I can’t open it :-( Is there any way to get it? Mayber via email?
Thanks a lot
Kati
I had to click Scale to fit in order to print it out without it being cut off. Is that how it’s suppose to print?
I made this–came out great!
Am I the only person who is having trouble with the pattern, I can’t figure out how to sew it together! Are there any more pictures and directions?
I’m totally freaking lost too. Been lost for days now
I made this tonight and it came out great. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit my baby. lol I’ll have to make the pattern bigger and try again.
Is there a legend available to show how to tape the 9 pages of pattern pieces together? I printed them out but can’t figure out how to join them.
Thanks so much!
Roberta
Did you ever get a reply or figure it out? I need some help myself! :)
Any one have any ideas on how to make this pattern so it fits a bigger baby.
I’m getting errors on this file as well. Would love for a new file to be posted??? Maybe? hopefully?? I think a lot of people would be super greatful!
I am getting the error that the page is no longer available. I would love to make this for a new grandson. Any help would be much appreciated!!
I would like to have the pattern emailed to me as well. It is definitely not 20″ long. Thanks very much
What is the size of this swaddler? Or is it one size and good for all babies?
Is it possible to get a picture of the pattern pieces taped together so that I can see how to assemble them all? I am trying to make the pattern itself and am lost. Thanks so much for this pattern, can’t wait to give it a try!
I made one of these today, it was so simple and easy and looks so cute. Thank you for providing this pattern & instructions free.
How are you making this work with only 1 yard in each of the 2 fabrics? I printed the pattern and I can’t figure out how to get enough fold line to cut both pieces from each piece of fabric. Please help, I’m making this for a baby shower gift. Thanks!
Never mind, I figured it out. :)

I’m looking forward to making this snuggler. It is so cute! However, I am having difficulty piecing the pattern pieces together. It’s just not making any sense to me. Do you have any suggestions?
i do..you’re printer is probably doing what mine is, and not printing the whole page of each piece. I am trying to change it from portrait to landscape to see if that helps. I tried to trace it off the monitor, but it comes out a different size, the font is also changed between the screen and my printer. don’t know what’s up with that. ANYWAYS, I figured it out and put it together, the who9le thing, IF i can get the rest of the page to print, that’s what I am missing on mine, i could not figure it out without the missing pieces either.
I too am having difficulty piecing this pattern together. Perhaps you could tape yours together then show a picture of it, or label the pieces as A-1, A-2 or something. I am an experienced sewer and crafter and have been working on trying to get this together for half hour now

what does it mean by dart on the pattern piece
You do know what darts are? The removal or shortening of fabric to create a shape, such as in the Bodice of a dress or blouse?
this pattern has a dart as well, to keep it from being completely flat.

Hello:
My wife asked me to print this snuggler pattern for her.
HOWEVER
I was wondering if you had the pattern file NOT SPLIT INTO multiple “8.5×11″ pages.
It would be much easier for me to print it on my Plotter that has a paper roll and can print 24″x36” images.
DO you still have the original filr prior to your berakout into “standard” size pages?? Please, pretty please
