Artist Judith G. Klausner, of Oreo Cameo and Cereal Sampler fame, has a spectacular new series of work that addresses our relationship with the things that we ingest called Coming Out of the Medicine Cabinet.
Rather than discretely keeping the pharmaceutical products the we’re often ashamed to admit that we use out of site, Klausner transforms these precious commodities into objects that we should display proudly by completely covering them with Swarovski crystals as a symbol of our commitment to maintaining good health.
The objects presented here represent an alternative approach to the issues we work through every day. Instead of hiding the hurdles we face – resigning ourselves and those around us to isolation – perhaps we should take that step out of the medicine cabinet, and start to serve as examples to each other of the many ways a healthy life can be led.
