Designer Sungwoo Park has created the “EazzzY”, a USB drive / digital camera with no buttons, no LCD screen and no viewfinder. The idea is that every time you plug the camera into your PC to download your pics, you will be surprised as to what’s on there. The idea is to combine the “feeling of how an analog camera works” with the ease of digital portability and image retrieval.

It looks to me like an excuse to sell a crappy featureless digital camera. There’s nothing apparent that wasn’t present in countless ultra-low-end cameras before. I will however, give the form factor a nod.
Er… “created”? I’m afraid the only thing created here was a few images of a concept camera. I was pretty excited about this for a minute! :)
If any digital camera owners want to have a similar experience its actually really easy.
Turn off your screen in the settings and cover the view finder with something.

If my usb drive just happened to have a crappy camera in it I would be more than happy.
Wouldn’t that just take a lot of pictures of the inside of your pocket?
This is just a study, just an idea, not a single resistor has been soldered for that. I would be more then happy if this page would stop posting concept art, there is no point. As people said: it already exists (I have one like this from a dollar store) and the chance that this model materializes are approaching zero.
Wait a minute, it says no viewfinder to see how analog cameras worked. Unless you go back to the 70’s, I thought even the most generic 35mm cameras has a view finder. Maybe not the screen, but at least the view finder.
Yep, this is pretty much what I had this summer when I set my backpack down too hard on the subway and shattered the LCD screen of the digital camera inside.
As other commenters on the linked site have pointed out, not only is this thing not actually an existent product, but cameras like this one are all over eBay for ten to fifteen bucks including delivery from Hong Kong.
If you don’t like the viewfinder and the shot counter, put some tape over them.

While I think that the signal to noise ratio on this sight has gone down since I started reading it, there’s still a lot of useful things on here. It’s easy enough to skip these conceptual posts with out waisting more than a few seconds. I’d rather see these posts on Make and skip them, than not have the option to view them at all.
Make’s editors can’t be bothered to investigate or verify things they post — this was also featured on NotCot.org (probably where they got it) and should be labeled as a conceptual project.
That said, this isn’t anything more than a smaller version of the $10 digital cameras you can get in the drugstore — yawn.
