The pink hue comes from the addition of Australian pink clay. I love adding clay to my soaps for added slip and cleansing power, and I especially love to take advantage of my clays for their pretty colours.

If you’ve been making your own glycerine soaps or using ready-made soap bases for a while, but you’re feeling ready to move on to more challenging recipes with lye, this project’s for you!

Make your own lemony fresh soap with a swirl of gold mica shimmer with this pink lemonade soap recipe from Marie at Humblebee & Me!

Note: This project involves the use of lye, which has the potential to be harmful. You’ll definitely want to ensure that you have access to a well-ventalated workspace, and that you wear all appropriate safety equipment. (If you’ve got kids who like to help you with your projects, keep in mind that this is NOT an good soapmaking technique for family craft nights.)
