Seamstress Sarah Bahr and artist Hugh O’Rourke collaborated to create this killer suit made from a used drop cloth in reference to Joseph Beuy’s famous Felt Suit.
According to Sarah Bahr:
This project helped remind me of my interest in the meaning of clothing and the emotional response humans can have to sentimental clothing. This suit is a portrait of a painter, a garment made of the leftovers in the art making process.

Great idea…but I think there’s more impact when just the jacket or the pants are worn. Otherwise, it feels like overkill. Also, I’d want to make the ensemble more tailored. The waist, for a woman, needs to be nipped more. You could also do this ‘drop cloth’ look yourself on nice dress-weight (or suit-weight) fabric. Play around with swatches before you use nice fabric. Actually, a nice cream denim might work for this suit.
