Whether it’s a whole head of cotton candy pink or a subtle stripe of blue, since my teenage years, I’ve almost always rocked at least a touch of unnatural color in my hair. And, as anyone who’s ever tried to maintain a bold, bright shade knows, it ain’t easy being green. (Or blue, or orange, or magenta.) As a gal with dark, almost-black hair, I definitely have to agree with Kaylah’s emphasis on exercising patience to keep your hair healthy. I can personally confirm that it is possible to bleach your hair until it breaks off—there was a reason I had that cute pixie cut in my late teens—and I don’t recommend it! Turns out, awesome color just doesn’t look that awesome on hair with the texture of straw.
