This polymer clay project is a great craft to make with this kids as you prepare for the upcoming Easter celebrations. I can’t get over how cute they are! After Easter is over they could be re-purposed as a ring or earring dish on your bedside table, perhaps?
The most important step for working with clay is to condition it well, and to make sure to have clean hands before you start– especially when using white clay! The premo! Sculpey brand of polymer clay used in this tutorial is rated as within the top two types for hardness and strength, so it may take awhile to get it soft enough to manipulate, but you will end up with a stronger final result when using this premium clay.
I love the texture that was carved into the bunny using a lino cutting tool after it was baked and cured. What a great technique! It is definitely inspiring me to bust out my clay stash and make something this weekend. Why not get together with some friends and make it a polymer clay party!
This project was designed by Swirly Designs by Lianne and Paul Stoddard. You can find the full tutorial over on the Sculpey Blog.
