Clearly this guy doesn’t have much experience with photography.
All his experiments involve light sources pointing at the *camera*. What he wants to do is point them at his *subject*.
What you are essentially trying to so here is exploit an area of overexposure, to lose all discernible features of the face. By pointing the LEDs at the camera all you are achieving is to overexpose the LEDs – point them at the face and it will be many times brighter than the rest of the surroundings in the frame. Make this difference great enough and the face will be overexposed.
