Like many other great inventions, it seems almost simple in retrospect, but in this write up we walk through the process and show you how to make your own.

You can technically eat these, but it’s not as good as I’d expected.
When I get some sodium alginate and calcium chloride, I’ll try to make hydrocolloid googly eyes. It will be interesting to find out if you can encapsulate smaller bubbles inside of larger ones.
