When I come across hair combs in the store, I’m ashamed to admit that I don’t immediately think, “Hey! I bet I could make some awesome jewelry out of that!” However, that seems to be exactly what happens when Michelle, the super-creative jewelry maker from Mich. L. in L. A., sees them. She’s made some surprisingly lovely jewelry sets combining traditional beads with teeth snipped from hair combs, and, if you didn’t know her secret, you’d probably never know the difference! Personally, I think that they have a little bit of a Wilma Flintstone feel.
Head over to Michelle’s blog to check out her hair comb jewelry tutorial, then go ahead and make something pretty out of those broken combs that have been hiding in the bottom of your barrette basket!
