We’ve been doing this too, but then with self-built rice-paper and wood Japanese-style ‘andon’. Not sound-controlled, but with red, green and blue LEDs that are PWM’ed to product a variety of colors. My wife has a photoshoot of the thing on her blog. Alas, the write-up is in Dutch, but if you want to know details, feel free to leave a comment at the entry.
