Kindle may not be exactly the killer e-book app we were hoping for, but it makes a lovely sugary confection. Mr. Bezos got such a geeky snortle out of it that he put it on the front page of Amazon. I’ve been reading books electronically on palm PDAs since 1998, but I don’t really get Kindle. It’s much more expensive than a PDA, feels clunkier, and only does one thing. Now I even use my PDA for audiobooks, and watch movies on the colour screen.

Plus Kindle is tied into those silly amazon e-books that cost more than the paperbacks. If I want an ebook, the PDA is better, but even a paperback is better than kindle.
