MAKE Asks: is a weekly column where we ask you, our readers, for responses to maker-related questions. We hope the column sparks interesting conversation and is a way for us to get to know more about each other.
This week’s question: Whether their media is traditional, interactive, computer-based, or otherwise, what artists influence and inspire you as a maker?
I have made many projects based on audiocassette tapes, and Nam June Paik was one of the first to implement this material as a medium in art. He created “tape wallpaper” that the user could interact with using a handheld box with a tape head on it.

Stelarc has definitely impacted me, with his many technological and transhumanist performances, also Arthur Ganston’s kinetic sculptures.

M.C. Escher, David Macaulay, J.K. Potter, Hokusai, Banksy, Ray Harryhausen, Frank Ching
Many artist inspire me. I can only name two; George Rhoads with his Rolling Ball Sculptures and Alexander Calder with his moblies.
