For $16, this could be really useful for a lot of projects… A robot hand – “The various gears and levers inside this clear plastic hand interact to move the fingers as if they are playing one of six classic piano pieces; as the digits play selections from Beethoven’s “Fifth Symphony”, Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer,” or Chopin’s “Minute Waltz,” you’ll be fascinated by their precise movement and precision-tuned mechanical genius. Sound sensor starts the music when you clap; requires 2 AA batteries (not included).” [via] – Link.

Sounds like it could be useful if my hand gets cut off with a lightsaber. Or if the blood in my veins turns into sand.

Sweet.. I smell a computer controlled middle finger / shocka generator
Just ordered one. I hope there’s enough travel in the fingers to get some quality inappropriate hand gestures…
Groovey!
Bah, upon closer viewing of the movie at stupid.com it appears that the 4 fingers are all linked, and only the thumb is separate, which will make it totally useless. Lame.
Unless I can fit some servos or solenoids or something in there…
