Celebrate Back To School with your family with a special night-before-dinner with these sweet pencil pinwheels as place cards on each plate. A new pencil will act as the handle of the pinwheel. Although these pinwheels are more for looks than function, they will make your special dinner all about the new school year ahead.
Materials
Decorative scrap book paper
Scissors
Double-stick tape or glue dots
Ruler
Tiny brads
Hole punch
New box of pencils
Directions
Step 1: Cut paper to about 3 in squares.
Step 2: Using a ruler, cut diagonal cuts up all four corners leaving about 1/4″ from the center.
Step 3: With the hole punch, punch one hole in the center and then four more holes one in the right corner on each side.
Step 4: Using a tiny brad, bend the hole-punched corner of each side and thread with the brad, then secure the brad.
Step 5: Write your child’s name on the pinwheel to make it personalized.
Step 6: Add some double stick tape or glue dot and stick the pinwheel to the new pencil.
Set it at your child’s seat at dinner table as a special “Back to School” surprise!
