Fabulous Flowers, by Anne Akers Johnson
Klutz is out with a summer-y new project book/craft kit for kids, Fabulous Flowers. Inside are printed and perforated shapes to build 20 different paper blooms, along with all the stem wires, sparkly centers, glue and tools you’ll need.
Want to try this craft out? we have a project PDF from the book!

The designs are very pretty and modern-looking, with little glitter details here and there. The process of making each flower is documented in clear step-by-step instructions, so kids as young as 8 should have no problems. And I’ll bet little artists who aren’t much for instruction-following could do some creative petal mixing and matching. When you’ve used up all the supplies, you can always order more from Klutz.com.
Klutz was kind enough to give us one of these flower projects to share with you. Click the two links above to download the petals and instructions for this paper rose, and try it out with your kid. (Or, just take a little flower-making break in your day.) You’ll need a piece of wire for a stem, a glue stick, and a pair of scissors. Enjoy!
