25-year-old Minnesota native Amber Rousse made this gorgeous quilled map of the world, over a period of six months. She’s clearly a creative gal — check out her blog “About Me” photo — Vitruvian Amber!
She started out by drawing the map on thin cardboard. Then she tackled the land first, accounting for mountains by making taller quilled pieces. When the land was finished, she made large, gorgeous sweeping swirls of green to represent the ocean, and then filled in the rest.
So beautiful!

That is so lovely. It reminds me of this visualization of ocean currents:

I know how to do Quilling. I wish I had the time and patience this person had. It;s very beautiful and very inventive.
I always feel like that the hours in the day are the same for us all, it’s how we choose to spend them, but I know what you mean. I have a million things I want to do and can’t seem to get started on any of the creative things, – but that laundry always gets done! yay..
that’s no way to live.

That is beautiful. Just amazing.
This is so beautiful I just can’t stop looking at it. This has inspired me to buy a beginner’s guide to quilling. I had never even heard of quilling before. It’s just beautiful.
