Today is my half birthday – I am approximately 30.5 today and absolutely nobody cares. Even Wikipedia says “most half birthdays go unremarked.” I love half birthdays, but getting family members, significant others, friends, and even co-workers to acknowledge this day usually never happens. So this year I put about a half-hour’s worth of effort into creating my own DIY party – half a birthday card (if I’m good, I’ll get the other half when I turn 31), half a birthday flag, and half of a brownie I got for free at lunch. Happy half birthday to me! If you know someone with a half birthday coming up, promise me you’ll at least make them half of a card!

half-happy birthday! :^)
Just wanted to point out that kids with summer birthdays often get their half-birthday recognized at school – at least at our school they do. But my poor son has his half-birthday right around Christmas, so he’s usually not in school for that either!
Thanks so much! I hear ya – my birthday always got lumped in with the June “let’s not forget about the summer kids” roundup.
