Quilting – Foundation Piecing Roundup

Craft & Design Yarncraft

Foundationpiecing
Foundation piecing is a technique used in quilting to help make your blocks more regular and easier to manage by using a backing template of paper or fabric. My mom uses temporary foundation piecing for her quilts, printing out the block designs on the computer and sewing the fabric to the paper. When the whole quilt top is done, she just takes off the sewn paper backing, as it has been perforated by the stitches. This is a great way to share patterns online, too, because you can just print out the templates and start sewing! Here’s a collection of methods.
