A bust that’s proportionally larger than the rest of your measurements can lead to all kinds of fitting woes, including and tops and bodices that feel too small, or finished projects that fit fine over the girls, but are too big everywhere else. Luckily, there’s a magical thing called the full bust adjustment—sometimes just called an FBA—that can add a bit of extra va va to the voom in standard sewing patterns, and Justine from The Sewing Rabbit will show you how it’s done.

Remember, even if it doesn’t seem like your bust is particularly large, sewing patterns are all about proportions. If the rest of your measurements fit one size, but your bust indicates that you should size up, it’s probably time to try a full bust adjustment. It was a game changer for me, and it just might help you too.
