Swedish artist, designer, and master crafter Love Hultèn creates devices and furniture that combine the past with the modern technologies of the moment.

His ridiculously cool Brix System scales up “high tech” Lego bricks (computers, monitors, button panels, phones) and brings them to life as fully functional devices. Made from wood (and acrylics, electronics), these 6:1 scale bricks measure 20cm×20cm for a 4×4 brick. Hultèn says of the project:

Like most people, I was raised by Lego. For this project, I chose to work with a set of decorated bricks from the iconic 79-87 “Legoland Space” line, mainly because of nostalgic reasons. These were bricks that would trigger my imagination as a kid. 25 years later, and they still trigger.

Visit the Love Hultèn site to see some of his other amazing pieces, like his upgrade of a 19th century work desk into a 21st century electronics bench.
