Craft & Design

Here’s a more Victorian era version of the Ambient Orb, this device hooks up to your PC and will display all sorts of things from CPU usage to stock prices – “The Device Patented Process Indicating Apparatus features two analog dials, a test tube that glows from dim to bright, and a red incandescent lamp. Each feature can be controlled independently, and conveys whatever information you assign to it. “ [via] – Link.

How is this a make? It is something that may or may not be for sale in the future. It may inspire someone to make something similar, but then again you could say that about any off the shelf widget.

MAKE covers all sorts of things, from things that inspire (art, gadgets) to weird devices, like this one.

Phillip is right.. and this is obviously something unusual that someone built by hand and decided to sell. Good inspiration for building your own Indicating Apparatus.
