I made it as a drop-in attachment for a Sawyers/GAF projector, since it was only needed for 1 night. It was built for the event Night Swim by Christie Pearson and Marcus Boon during Nuit Blanche Toronto “ [via] – Link.

This project gave me a lot more headaches than I expected! Making an accurate moon projector would be a real challenge. Mine doesn’t do the the full cycle of waxing->full->waning->new properly, and the shape is a bit out. Good enough for what it was made for, but not planetarium quality. What I’d like to see is an accurate projector, table-top size, that can be set to cycle at any rate, or sync’ed up with the actual moon, via an accurate clock, or the internet or some such thing.
