The Harbinger Co. Laser-Cut Jewelry

Craft & Design

Last weekend, at Bazaar Bizarre in San Francisco, our CRAFT table was neighbors with Yvonne Hung, the maker behind The Harbinger Co.‘s incredible line of bamboo laser-cut jewelry. As soon as we rolled in and I laid eyes on Yvonne’s work, I was enthralled. I must say her designs are some of the freshest and most original I’ve seen. With MAKE so near to my heart, her geometric lovelies had my full attention. And she crafts them using a laser cutter to boot. The hardest part was choosing which design to get, and I chose the Bamboocomb earrings, pictured above. I love them! They remind me of an earthy tribute to Q*bert.

I'm a word nerd who loves to geek out on how emerging technology affects the lexicon. I was an editor on the first 40 volumes of MAKE, and I love shining light on the incredible makers in our community. In particular, covering art is my passion — after all, art is the first thing most of us ever made. When not fawning over perfect word choices, I can be found on the nearest mountain, looking for untouched powder fields and ideal alpine lakes.
