Upcycled Globe Art

Turn an old outdated globe into this wonderful statement piece for your home. I simply adore the font used in this project. The easiest way to achieve this look is to cut out some vinyl letters from your trusty digital cutting machine, but this can also be done by hand. Use the vinyl as a mask when painting your globe.

The way these colorful words pop out against the black backdrop remind me so much of the scratch art I’m sure we’ve all done as kids. When I think of scratch art, I am immediately reminded of the amazing work of Natalie McKean who takes this typical kids craft to a whole new level of strange and awesome.

If you’re ready to makeover the dusty old globe, you can find all the details over on Hey Hey Mandy Kay.

If you’d like to try your hand at scratch art, Natalie McKean has a great DIY tutorial available here.
