Big Thursday: A New Issue, a Live Hangout, and 100+ International Meetups!

3D Printing & Imaging Workshop
Make: Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing

This is going to be big!

Tomorrow, Nov. 15, MAKE’s editors will be hosting a live Google+ Hangout On Air at 6pm PST/9pm EST to mark the release of our Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing. We’ll be joined by some of the 3D printing luminaries who helped us test and evaluate 15 of the industry’s top 3D printers.

At the same time–and in the same room–we’ll be hosting the first of our International Maker Meetups, this one on 3D printing. While all that’s going on in our Sebastopol, Calif. offices, we’ll also be joined by 120+ meetups from around the world (via the Google+ HOA). The meetups are a chance to get global makers together to talk about making, 3D printing, and to have some fun with local enthusiasts.

Whether you’re a designer, inventor, hacker, tinkerer, or parent looking for a very special holiday present — anyone interested in 3D printing and making is welcome at a meetup. We suggest getting together at convenient locations such as a hackerspace, coffee shop, community center, library, or restaurant. Bring your laptops, tablets, smartphones to access the Internet and G+ Hangout On Air. The first 25 organizers will receive a MAKE meetup welcome kit that includes: 12 copies of the MAKE Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing, MAKE T-shirts, notebooks, stickers, and buttons. The top three organizers with the highest number of RSVPs will get a $200 stipend for beverages and food! Participants at the meetups will get a free PDF copy of the Ultimate Guide.

To watch the hangout, just go here at showtime. If you’d like to join us on air, be sure to add MAKE to your circles and then post a comment during the hangout with a request to come online. We’ll do our best to get as many meetups and folks on air. And if you’d like to host a meetup or find out if there’s one near you, check out our Meetup page.

See you online or in person tomorrow! It should be a blast.
