Super Awesome Sylvia Heads To The White House Again

screen-shot-2013-05-28-at-11-42-14-am We’ve had the honor of having Sylvia Todd, gracing the pages of Make since way back in 2010. It all started when we all fell in love with Super Awesome Sylvia’s first video, explaining how she made a Drawbot from a kit.

Since then Sylvia has gone on to do so many incredible things from making silly putty to creating squishy circuits, gracing the cover of our magazine to building heart rate detecting pendants.  Sylvia has actually done so many incredible things it would be silly to try to link to all of them here. The past four years have had Sylvia exploring so many facets of making that you’ll just have too check out all of the things she’s shown ff on Make.

Last year Sylvia went to the White House science fair with her watercolorbot, a robot that creates water color paintings.

Apparently this year she can relax a little bit as they haven’t requested that she bring a demo:

“Even though I won’t be presenting anything, I can’t wait to see all the amazing people and projects that did make it here. It’s so cool that June 18th is now officially the national day of making!! Exciting that us makers are being recognized nationally and I am proud to be a even just a little part of it, helping inspire kids to join the professionals hacking their dreams together.”
