For those who crochet, I have instructions on making paper clip stitch markers, because crochet stitch markers have to be removable.
I also use tied loops of yarn to mark stitches in my crochet. I just stitch over the whole loop. That way, they are removable. With my luck, the paper clips would snag my project when I try to remove them. (I’ve never tried this before, but maybe the used loops could be re-used as stuffing instead of using poly-fiber stuffing.)
