Elizabeth from Oh, Fransson! finished the gorgeous paintbox quilt that she has been working on and blogging about lately. The front of the quilt is made up of 64 6.5″ paintbox blocks in 32 color combinations. Each block is a Kona cotton solid and a matching monochromatic quilting print. Elizabeth wrote a tutorial for making paintbox blocks as well.
The back of the quilt has a small rectangle of each of the Kona cottons and appliqued letters.

Does anyone know if Kona cotton has anything to do with Kona, Hawaii? I’m a resident and I’m wondering if any cotton is actually grown here or if the name is just being used.
That’s a good post.
