Children’s Birthday Party at an Organic Farm

I have seen a lot of cute kid birthday party ideas, but this is definitely my favorite: a children’s birthday party held at an organic farm.
Tricia of Little Eco Footprints has a post up about helping her friend host the first birthday party at Purple Pear Organic Farm (Anambah, Australia). They served simple food (fruit kebabs, popcorn, veggies and hummus, water), al fresco, and each partygoer got a little basket filled with stale bread, which they used to feed the ducks and chickens. The children also got to collect eggs, eat fresh beans from the garden, nurse guinea pigs, and feed the pony.
The party was topped off with a banana cake and a story about sunflowers. Then partygoers collected sunflower seeds that they got to take home, along with a small jar of honey.
THIS is the model of what a children’s birthday party should be: reveling in life with healthy food and activities.
