Here’s another gift idea for the foodie who has everything! Because surely they don’t have a handmade egg spoon or swivel toaster to use over an open flame … I have a treasured memory of my grandmother and great-aunt reminiscing over a fading fire that those were “the perfect coals for toast.” We take toasters for granted, but for centuries, a wrought-iron swivel toaster was high tech! And I have personally tried out the egg spoon (as has Alice Waters, apparently), and all I can say is, yum!
