Francesca Pitcher from North Star Cakes in the UK created this disturbingly realistic Burmese python cake for her daughter’s birthday. She posted it on her Facebook page and it’s gone viral from there. Decorative cake guru Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes even tweeted about it.
Nice job, but maybe too realistic. I think I just lost my sweet tooth. Hey, wait, she could be onto something — make all of those deadly desserts LOOK deadly.

YIKES! Something I absolutely hate combined with something I absolutely love. I’ve never felt so torn…
What have you got against cake?
As striking as it appears I’d recoil from a second helping.

Perhaps you can find a chocolate mouse inside?
This is unbelievably realistic! Francesca, you’re a pro! I don’t think there are many bakers out there who could match your expertise. Kudo’s to you and your talent!

Yes, yes, YES. Icing roses and drapery pale before this inspired decoration. Please post some how-to details. I’d love to take my darling’s birthday cake to the next level.
This is just way too cool. It just about rivals my body cavity cake! Great, great, job!
That is adorable! I love it. Nice work.
Please give me the recipe, I want to make this for a snake lover!
I use to really be into snakes, it’s so beautiful. I’d love to make one just to freak people out on April Fool’s Day.
