Control iTunes with a PSP (Mac)

Fun & Games Home

PspCoverbuddy is a really slick iTunes remote “Control your music remotely right on your Sony PSP – or from any other computer on the network, with any web browser!” [via] Link. If the $19 is too steep – WebRemote is another way to do this, $10 cheaper – but it’s more of a text interface.

Another option is to get the free SlimServer from SlimDevices.com and use their web interface.

    Did I mention it’s FREE?

Another option is to get the free SlimServer from SlimDevices.com and use their web interface. It can use the iTunes database, although it won’t directly control iTunes. But it’ll display your album art and all other kinds of goodies. You can even download your mp3s and unprotected AACs to the PSP if you dig deep enough into the features.

Oh, did I mention it’s FREE?

Whoops, guess I mentioned SlimServer is free twice.

I did try CoverBuddy and found it was a bit laggy on the Mac side of things with a large library of songs in iTunes. YMMV.

Or if you are a real Do-it-yourselfer, you would make your own interface and write your own scripts, which is precisely what I did over at http://www.gnatopia.com about 6 months ago. :) If someone was so inclined, they could take my work and really build off of it, come up with something sweet. I really only wanted to spend a weekend on it, so that’s what I came up with.
