Kotaku has an overview on watching TV on your PSP using Sony’s LocationFree TV “watch cable TV, DVDs and DVR from your home entertainment center anywhere you can access a broadband connection. The one (major) downside is that you have to fork out about $350 to buy the LocationFree TV base station.” – a commenter on the site also mentions “you can use it to play PSX/PS2 games on the PSP. Granted there is a slight lag, but it does work.” Link.

If you carried around a Stompbox, you could get your LocationFree entertainment pretty much anywhere.
Anyway, $350 is too much for that box. I’ll wait until the community figures out how to make a PC act like the LocationFree box.
Isnt this the same thing as the slingbox? From reading the website I think it is. One thing about the slingbox I see thats different is it’s a $100.00 cheaper. Here is a link to the slingbox http://www.slingmedia.com/slingbox/
There are 2 programs to stream video and audio to psp from pc via wifi 1)pimpstreamer 2)rss streaming tools,
pimpstreamer is a bit slow unless you set your wifi router to B instead of G and rss streaming tools uses the psp rss capability to stream audio so no downloading your mp3 and using up memory stick space it also lets you download video from youtube through wifi .You can also browse your files.
Don’t you need a psx in order to do this? I just read that somewhere and it looks as though the normal PS2 (slim or fat) is unable to send the signals that allows you to actually play the game on your psp. Just wondering, does anyone know that it can take the signal from your PS2 and put it into the Location Free and put that onto your PSP? I’m so clueless…
