Marcelo Souza of São Paulo, Brazil, dropped us a note to share his cool tabletop arcade machine emulator.
I’ve spent the last Months building this MiniArcade. I’ve made 2 Videos of it. One of the process and one of the GamePlay. It has a unique optical Sensor to get the coin Credits, develped by me using Arduino as “base”, but customized. (Name COINDUINO, by me).
If you savvy Portuguese, be sure to check out Marcelo’s project log including some fascinating entries on the Coinduino. Otherwise, check out his fun video detailing the build. And it looks like Marcelo will be selling kits.

Hi it’s Marcelo Souza here, the creator of the Mini-Arcade on this post. I am here to thanks MAKE for sharing/posting this to the world. :)
I am a 3D Animator in Brazil and not making this for living, but i know that too many folks out there are crazy for Retro Games like me, but don’t want to build one Machine like that by yourSelf. It’s a lot of work. I am not able to put a Nail on the wall to hang a photo frame, so you can now figure out the enourmous amount of work/efforts i have to do to acomplish that thing well. :) but it worth every hour spent on it. :)
My english is not so good, but i can read it pretty well. So, feel free to drop me a mail with any questions about the Mini-Arcade.
Thanks againg MAKE MAGAZINE ! :)
BTW, i have tons of pictures of the building process, and about 6 hours of HD film recorded of the entire production steps. I am planing to edit it soon on a shorter mini-Doc format. :)
