This is a really neat design concept, it’s a Rubik’s cube that has textures on each side so vision impaired or anyone blindfolded can play. Interesting twist on an iconic game, this would be pretty easy to make with different materials and shapes glued to the surface. [via] Link.

Years ago, a coworker at Permabit had a hand-hacked cube just like this…with the added cool detail that ALL the sides were black (very fine sandpaper, velcro, etc.), which helped drive the point home for folks who could see.
Very neat.
