I really like this simple accent lamp by designer Richard Lawson. It lights up when placed in the upright position. Consisting of just a couple of LEDs, a tilt switch, and a 9V battery clip encased in a block of tinted resin, it’d be an easy re-make.

How can one call himself/herself a minimalist and use a battery powered light?
they have buckets of these at the dollar tree by my house..
That’s exactly what all of us have done since ever: a battery and a (LED) lamp. Except that today all of us would use rechargeable batteries !
