I know we’ve all done it, seen that old wooden dresser on the side of the road and tried to justify a reason to pick it up and turn it into your next DIY project. Well I’m here to tell you the next time that happens you’ll have a super project idea ready for transforming those drawers into functional planter boxes!
Make sure the drawers you are using are made of real wood, not the sawdust and glue type. These boxes are meant to be kept outdoors, so they will be at the mercy of Mother Nature. If you are keeping them inside your covered porch you won’t need to worry so much about them getting soaked in the rain.
This project does require some basic wood working tools, like clamps, and drills. There are some specialty tools used in the tutorial too, like a pocket hole drilling jig and an air nail gun. These are super nice to have but are not essential to creating the project.
Can’t find anyone throwing our their old dresser? Head over to your local ReStore or thrift shop or antique store to grab supplies for this build.
